ICELAND A glass of wine and a gourmet meal at The Lava restaurant of the Blue Lagoon. The most relaxing way to unwind and begin our trip. A half-day in the silky, steaming, therapeutic ice-blue waters of the Blue Lagoon. I’ve never tasted pastries and bread like those here in Iceland. I watched mesmerized as these two master bakers worked in harmony. Sinfully delicious pastries. They are utterly addictive. Thundering, majestic, Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Black sand beach and unique black basalt cave, which looks as though it was sculpted by a professional artist. The bucolic, peaceful Icelandic landscape: Blue skies, Glaciers, green velvet grass, and red-roofed farmhouses and barns. Jokularson Glacial Lagoon where icebergs float on the lagoon beneath the retreating glacier and blocks of ice float out to sea. Fjadrargljfur Canyon, where waterfalls tumble and ice blue water swirls below towering pillars of rock. This Geyser shoots skywards with a whoosh every eight minutes. In the geothermal pools, the water bubbles and boils and steams. Inside an Ice Cave below the surface of a glacier.
